Applesauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 tart apples
    1 c. water
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Peel and core apples.
    Cut into chunks.
    Add sugar and water. Simmer until apples are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Add spices and mash with a potato masher.
    Serve warm or cold.
