Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 1 1/2 c. unpopped popcorn
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. corn syrup
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 c. raw Spanish peanuts
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. melted margarine or butter
    2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put popped popcorn (1 to 1 1/2 cups unpopped) in warm 250\u00b0 oven so when syrup is ready it is warm or syrup sets up too fast to coat popcorn.
    In large heavy pan mix sugar, corn syrup and water.
    Cook to 230\u00b0.
    Add peanuts (stir until finished).
    Cook to 280\u00b0.
    Add salt.
    Cook to 290\u00b0; remove from heat.
    Add butter; stir.
    It won't all mix in, do fast.
    Add soda; stir.
    Add vanilla; pour mixture over popcorn.
    Stir until coated.
    Pour popcorn on countertop or table to cool.
    Can make balls or just eat.
