Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 can coconut
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    1/2 tsp. salt
    5 egg whites
Preparation
    Cream margarine, shortening and sugar.
    Add egg yolks; beat well.
    Gradually add dry ingredients with buttermilk.
    Last, add well beaten egg whites, coconut and pecans.
    Bake in 3 layers at 350\u00b0 for 25 or 30 minutes.
