Boiled Picnic Ham - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 picnic ham (any size)
    1 medium onion
    3 cloves garlic
    1/2 c. dark brown sugar
    1 to 2 whole cloves
Preparation
    Cover ham with water in a kettle.
    Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat to simmer.
    Simmer 2 to 3 hours or until tender.
    Cool in water.
    Remove.
    Drain well.
    Slice.
    Serve hot or cold.
