Pastry Crust - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. flour
pinch of salt
1/4 c. butter
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. lemon juice
cold water
1 egg, beaten with 3 tsp. milk, to glaze
Preparation

Place flour and salt in a bowl.
Add butter.
With fingertips only, mix to a bread crumb consistency.
Mix in egg yolk and lemon juice.
With a knife, cut in 1 teaspoon water, adding a little more if necessary to form a stiff dough.
Turn out onto a floured board and knead gently into a small ball.
If using to make a pie, roll out to size of pie plate.
Carefully line pie plate with crust. Prick base with a fork.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes bottom crust for one 8-inch pie.
