Vi'S Banana Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening (I use butter)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 large eggs
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. buttermilk or add vinegar to milk
    3 ripe bananas, mashed
    1/2 c. pecan pieces
Preparation
    Cream together shortening (I use butter), sugar and eggs. Beat in sifted flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
    Stir in buttermilk, mashed bananas and pecan pieces.
    Pour into layer pans or a 13 x 9-inch oblong pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes in an oblong pan or in layers for 25 minutes.
    Use a dark chocolate frosting.
