Coq Au Vin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 chickens, cut into serving pieces
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 lb. bacon, crumbled
    1/2 c. onion, sliced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. parsley
    1 tsp. marjoram
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. dry sherry
    1/2 lb. mushrooms
Preparation
    Brown chicken in butter and bacon.
    Add onion.
    Drain off some fat.
    Push aside in pan and add seasonings.
    Add sherry and simmer 45 minutes.
    Remove chicken.
    Add mushrooms and flour (if you like thick gravy) and simmer for 10 minutes.
    Pour gravy over chicken (and rice, too!).
    Serves 6 to 8.
