Lemon Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. lemon juice
1/2 c. grated lemon peel
Preparation

Sift together the first 4 ingredients; add wheat germ.
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Combine water and lemon juice; add to shortening, sugar and egg mixture with lemon peel.
Pour into flour mixture; stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients.
Do not beat.
Turn into well-greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until it tests done.
