Elbert'S Baked Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. roast, cut into large pieces
    2 small onions, chopped
    celery, chopped
    carrots, chopped
    potatoes, chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 tsp. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. instant tapioca
    1 pkg. brown gravy mix (with mushrooms)
    1 large can tomatoes
Preparation
    Cut up roast.
    Brown in butter for about 5 minutes.
    Put in pan.
    Add onions, celery, carrots, potatoes, salt and pepper.
    Add brown sugar and tapioca.
    Put gravy mix in 1 cup water.
    Heat to a boil and pour over other ingredients.
    Add tomatoes.
    Cover with foil and bake at 250\u00b0 for 5 hours.
