Imitation "Snickers" Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients

11 1/2 oz. pkg. milk chocolate morsels
2 Tbsp. shortening
30 vanilla caramels
3 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. water
1 c. coarsely chopped peanuts

Preparation

Melt morsels and shortening over hot water (not boiling). Stir until melted and mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat.
Pour 1/2 of mixture in an 8-inch foil-lined pan; spread evenly. Refrigerate about 15 minutes.
Return remaining chocolate mixture to low heat (over water).
