Large Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 c. milk
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    5 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. hot water
    2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Mix hot water and soda. Set aside. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs then add remaining ingredients except for hot water. Beat with mixer until smooth. Slowly add water, beating on low with mixer. Put into 9 X 13 pan or 3 nine inch layer pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes.
