Sunshine Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar (add 1/2 c. water)
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
    4 qt. cucumber
Preparation
    Use large green cucumbers.
    Peel slices lengthwise and remove seeds.
    Cut slices 1-inch thick.
    Cook in sugar syrup and spices until transparent.
    Seal while hot.
