Sweet Potato Pies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 lb. sweet potatoes
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 doz. eggs
4 Tbsp. vanilla flavor
2 Tbsp. nutmeg
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
3 c. sweet milk
1 Tbsp. salt
3 c. sugar
Preparation
-
Peel and clean
the potatoes.
Place in a pot and cover with water; bring to
a
boil
and let cook over a medium fire until done.
Remove the potatoes from the water and drain.
In a mixing bowl mash the potatoes well.
Add the butter, flavor, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, sugar and eggs.
Mix well and gradually add the milk until a smooth custard is made.
A little more or a little less milk may be needed.
Pour in a 9-inch pie pan and bake in a preheated
oven
cook
for
2
to 2 1/2 hours at 325\u00b0.
Makes 3 to 5 pies.
