Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. uncooked oatmeal
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oats; cover and let stand for 20 minutes.
    Beat butter until creamy.
    Gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy.
    Blend in vanilla and eggs.
    Add oats to mixture. Sift all dry ingredients together.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Bake in greased and floured 9-inch square pan.
    Bake 1 hour in 350\u00b0 oven.
    Do not remove cake from pan.
    Add frosting and serve from pan.
