Date Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. corn syrup
    1 c. milk
    1/2 lb. chopped dates
    1 c. nuts, finely chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    In a skillet, combine sugar, syrup and milk.
    Cook to soft ball stage.
    Add dates and mash until well mixed.
    Add nuts and vanilla. Beat until carameled.
    Roll onto wet cheesecloth.
    Let chill until cool.
    Unwrap and slice.
