Chili (Without Beans) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. butter, margarine or oil
    6 medium onions, sliced
    3 lb. ground beef
    3 cans (20 oz.) tomatoes, crushed
    1/2 c. ketchup
    1 c. beer
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. Tabasco
    2 to 4 Tbsp. chili powder
    3 cloves garlic
Preparation
    Melt butter in large saucepan.
    Add onions; cook until tender, not brown.
    Add beef; cook until browned (drain if necessary). Add tomatoes, ketchup, beer, salt, Tabasco and chili powder. Crush garlic and add.
    Cover; simmer 1 hour.
