Mama'S Ice Cream Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. milk (or 5 cans evaporated milk)
    3 c. sugar
    8 eggs
    2 heaping Tbsp. flour
    pinch of salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat
    eggs
    well.
    Add\tsugar
    and flour that have been mixed together.
    Add
    3
    quarts of whole milk or 5 cans evaporated milk plus
    water to make a total of 3 quarts.
    Add salt and cook
    over low
    heat
    until
    it thickens or coats a metal spoon.
    Cool
    in cold
    water
    and
    freeze.
    May add any fruit (peaches, strawberries,
    etc.) but always sweeten fresh fruit and add
    the juice
    of
    one lemon.
    Can use canned pineapple, drained with no extra sugar.
