Donald'S De-Calorized Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

12 oz. chicken meat (after deboning)
6 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
4 tsp. chicken bouillon granules
4 c. chopped okra
1/4 c. chopped onions
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
9 c. water (approximately)
Preparation

Cook okra in 2 tablespoons shortening until tender and no longer slimy.
Brown flour in 4 tablespoons shortening to make a roux.
Add all ingredients to the crock-pot and let simmer about 6 to 8 hours.
Serve over rice.
Serves 8. One cup yields about 150 calories.
