Scottish Short Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
2/3 c. granulated sugar
1 c. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation

Cream butter, sugar and salt.
Stir in egg yolk and vanilla. Gradually add flour, mixing with fingers.
Add chopped pecans if desired.
Spread mixture evenly in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Prick with fork to form squares.
Cook in preheated oven at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until just golden brown.
Sprinkle with sugar and cool in pan.
This freezes nicely and thaws in about 30 minutes.
