1/2 lb. bulk breakfast sausage
1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. salt
1/3 to 1/2 c. ice water
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. mixed Italian dried herbs
2/3 c. vegetable shortening

Preparation

Brown meat in frying pan.
Drain excess fat.
Combine flour, cheese, herbs and salt in mixing bowl.
Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add sausage.
Mix until evenly distributed.
Sprinkle with ice water and stir until dough is just moist enough to handle.
