Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg yolk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 lb. sweet chocolate
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and egg yolk until creamy.
    Add vanilla. Stir in sifted flour and salt.
    Mix well.
    Spread in rectangle, about 10 x 13-inch on a greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 20 minutes.
    While still warm, spread with melted chocolate. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
    Cut into squares while still warm. Yields about 5 or 6 dozen.
