Buttermilk Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg
    1/4 tsp. salt
    buttermilk as needed
    1/2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients, adding whole egg; blend mixture by adding enough buttermilk to make medium batter.
    Pour into hot, greased (bacon drippings preferred) muffin pans.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 or 500\u00b0 for about 15 minutes or until brown.
    Makes enough for 8 muffins.
