Baked Creamed Corn And Peas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 Tbsp. butter or oleo, divided
2 tsp. onion, finely chopped
1/3 c. celery, finely chopped
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1 to 2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, thawed
2 c. whole kernel corn, drained
1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1/4 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
Preparation

Melt 3 tablespoons butter. Saut onion and celery until golden. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, basil and sugar. Mix well. Gradually add milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. Mix peas and corn in shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Pour milk sauce over top, mixing lightly. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Blend with bread crumbs and cheese. Sprinkle on mixture. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
