Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. quick oatmeal
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. raisins, soaked in hot water, drain
Preparation

Mix oatmeal and boiling water. Let stand 20 minutes. Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients and stir in sugar mixture. Add oatmeal mixture and raisins. Mix thoroughly. Bake in a 9 X 13 pan at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes. Test doneness by touching gently.
