Christmas Drops - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. red candied cherries, chopped
1 c. green candied cherries, chopped
2 c. candied pineapple, chopped
1 (8 oz.) pkg. whole pitted dates, chopped
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, divided
1 c. butter, softened
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Combine first 5 ingredients; dredge in 1/2 cup flour, stirring well.
Set aside.
Beat butter in a large mixing bowl at medium speed of an electric mixer; gradually add brown sugar, beating well.
Add eggs, mixing well.
Add buttermilk.
Combine remaining 3 cups flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture.
Chill dough at least 1 hour.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove from cookie sheets immediately and cool on wire racks.
Store at room temperature in airtight container or freeze.
Yields 12 1/2 dozen.
