Jamaican Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 tsp. powdered ginger
12 oz. plain flour
2 oz. mixed candied peel
2 oz. dark brown sugar
4 oz. butter
8 oz. molasses
1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda
4 Tbsp. warm milk
2 eggs, well beaten
Preparation

Sift ginger with the flour; add the peel and mix.
Heat sugar, butter and molasses over low heat until sugar dissolves.
Dissolve the soda in the milk; add the beaten eggs and beat a little more. Add molasses mixture and egg mixture to the flour, mixing thoroughly.
