Strawberry Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 angel food cake
    1 (8 oz.) container Cool Whip
    1 (6 oz.) box strawberry jello
    1 1/2 c. fresh strawberries, sliced
    2 tsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. granulated sugar
Preparation
    Put sliced strawberries in small bowl; add granulated sugar and set aside.
    Break angel food cake into medium size pieces into large bowl.
    Prepare jello as directed, leaving cool, but don't gel.
    Add Cool Whip to jello; stir.
    Pour this over cake and mix. Drain liquid off of strawberries into small saucepan; add strawberries to cake and mix lightly.
    Pour cornstarch in liquid; stir until dissolved; put on low heat until thick as syrup and pour over cake mixture and refrigerate for 2 hours.
