Cherry-Coconut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs, lightly beaten
    1/2 c. drained maraschino whole cherries
    1/2 c. flaked coconut
    1/2 c. nutmeats
Preparation
    Sift together flour and 1/4 cup sugar.
    Cut in butter.
    Press this mixture into bottom of ungreased pan, 9 x 9-inch or 7 x 11-inch.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes.
    Then sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add 3/4 cup sugar.
    Fold in eggs, lightly beaten, and add cherries and coconut and nutmeats.
    Spread this mixture over the bottom layer and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
