Hamburg Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 1/2 lb. hamburg
    1 can tomatoes
    3 cans beef consomme
    2 cans water
    4 medium carrots
    4 celery tops
    1 bay leaf
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. parsley
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    10 peppercorns
Preparation
    Melt butter; toss in onion and hamburg.
    Stir until browned. Add rest of ingredients.
    Cover; cook over low heat 45 minutes.
