Stuffed Cabbage Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 large cabbage leaves
    boiling water
    1 1/4 lb. ground beef
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 c. uncooked regular rice
    1 small chopped onion
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. sage
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    3 Tbsp. oil
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/4 c. water
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar
    2 (8 oz. each) cans tomato sauce
Preparation
    Cover cabbage leaves with boiling water and let stand 5 minutes until leaves are limp, then drain.
    Combine ground beef, salt and pepper, regular rice, chopped onion, egg, nutmeg, sage and thyme. Place meat portions into cabbage leaves. Roll and fasten with string or a toothpick. Brown in 3 tablespoons oil.
