Hard Rock Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. water
    3/4 c. light corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. desired food coloring
    1/4 tsp. desired flavoring*
    confectioners sugar
Preparation
    Mix sugar, water and corn syrup in a large saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat until mixture reaches 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer or hard-crack stage.
    Remove from heat.
    Add food coloring and flavoring; mix well.
    Pour into well-greased cookie pans; cool, enough to touch.
    Cut with scissors into bite size pieces; dust with powdered sugar.
    Store in airtight containers.
