Easy Red Beans And Rice(Makes 10 Servings. Prep Time: 15 Minutes.) - cooking recipe

3 c. water
1 1/2 c. long grain rice
2 Tbsp. butter
1 (16 oz.) pkg. smoked sausage, cut 1/4-inch thick
1 (14.5 oz.) can stewed tomatoes/onions and green peppers
2 (15 oz.) cans kidney beans
1/2 tsp. chopped garlic
1 tsp. lemon pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. oregano
Preparation

Bring water, rice and butter to hard boil.
Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Put a little oil in large frying pan and saute meat and onion.
Brown for five minutes and add tomatoes and beans with seasonings.
Heat to boiling, then reduce heat to simmer and cover for about 15 minutes.
Remove lid and let simmer about 15 more minutes.
Serve over rice.
