Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Pour the boiling water over the oatmeal; let stand for 10 minutes to soak and cool.
    Sift together dry ingredients.
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs (well beaten).
    Add oatmeal; mix well.
    Add dry ingredients and beat.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 45 minutes.
