Sauerkraut Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. cider vinegar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 large can sauerkraut
    1 can bean sprouts
    1 can water chestnuts
    1 c. chopped celery
    2 c. sliced onion rings
Preparation
    In a saucepan combine sugar, vinegar, turmeric and mustard. Bring to a boil.
    Remove from heat and cool (sugar should be dissolved).
    Drain sauerkraut, bean sprouts and water chestnuts. Slice chestnuts.
    Mix kraut, bean sprouts, sliced chestnuts, chopped celery, sliced onion rings and mix in cooled liquid.
    Keep in refrigerator.
