Stewed Tomatoes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. margarine
2 to 3 Tbsp. sugar
4 lb. ripe tomatoes, peeled and quartered
1 tsp. salt
pepper to taste
soft bread
Preparation

Combine butter and sugar in heavy skillet. Cook over medium heat until melted and golden. Add tomatoes and salt, stirring well. Cover and reduce heat. Cook 20 minutes, until tender, stirring occasionally. Add pepper to taste. Thicken with soft bread crumbs, if desired.
