Ingredients

2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar, divided
2 eggs
1 (8 oz.) container plain yogurt
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts, divided
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Cream butter with 3/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, until blended.
Stir in yogurt, lemon peel and vanilla.
Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together.
Add to creamed mixture, stirring until smooth.
Add 3/4 cup walnuts.
Turn half of the batter into a greased, floured 9-inch tube pan.
