Applesauce Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 eggs
1 c. Crisco
3 c. flour
3 c. applesauce or 1 large can
3 tsp. soda
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 box raisins
nuts, as much as desired
1 c. crushed pineapple, well drained
1 jar maraschino cherries
1 box citrus fruit
Preparation

Mix sugar, Crisco and eggs together.
Sift flour, spices and salt.
Dust raisins and nuts with mixture.
Heat applesauce with soda and when it bubbles up, fold in with dry ingredients.
Then mix in pineapple and beat with electric mixer.
Add other fruits. Bake 1 1/2 hours in tube pan.
Turn off oven and leave cake in for about 10 minutes.
Let cool and then remove from pan.
Freezes very well.
