Baked Apples With Cinnamon Sauce - cooking recipe

6 medium red cooking apples
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Wash and core apples.
Starting at stem end, pare apples 1/3 of the way down (this helps keep skins from bursting).
Place in shallow baking pan, pared sides up.
Boil water, sugar and cinnamon for 10 minutes over medium heat.
Pour over apples.
Bake about 1 hour or until easily pierced with fork (spoon syrup over apples frequently during baking to glaze). Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
