Creole Coconut Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs, separated
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. shredded coconut
    1 (9-inch) pie shell (unbaked)
Preparation
    Beat whites until stiff.
    Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar.
    Cream butter and remaining sugar.
    Add yolks and blend thoroughly.
    Add milk and vanilla.
    Fold whitened coconut into butter mixture. Pour into pie shell.
    Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes.
