Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. strawberries
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 baked pie shell
    whipped cream, if desired
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    dash of salt
    about 1 c. water
Preparation
    Mash 1/2 of berries.
    Drain juice into measuring cup.
    Add water to make 1 1/2 cups liquid. Pour liquid into saucepan.
    Stir in sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Cook over low heat until thick and clear, stirring constantly.
    Add few drops of food coloring if desired.
    Let stand until cool.
    Gently fold in rest of berries (quartered).
    Pour into cool shell.
    Chill for at least 2 hours. Serve, top with whipped cream.
