Red Tomato Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. ripe tomatoes
    1 small pod red hot pepper
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    pickling spices to taste
    plain salt to taste
Preparation
    Peel and chop tomatoes and hot pepper.
    Mix in other ingredients and bring to a boil.
    Cook for 10 minutes or until tomatoes are done.
    Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
