Everlasting Slaw - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large head cabbage (about 3 1/2 lb.), shredded
1 large onion, chopped
1 large bell pepper, chopped
3 carrots, peeled and grated
1 c. vinegar
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation

Mix first four ingredients (the vegetables), in a large bowl or pan that can be placed in refrigerator.
Sprinkle 1 cup of sugar on top of this and set aside.
Do not stir.
Heat the rest of ingredients to boiling.
While still warm, pour over the cabbage mixture.
Let set in refrigerator about 24 hours.
Then stir and enjoy for up to 2 weeks.
Keep in tightly covered container.
