Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 to 3 lb. chicken
    8 c. hot water or to cover chicken
    1 onion, cut in pieces
    2 bay leaves
    2 tsp. salt
    6 peppercorns
    3 stalks celery with leaves, cut in pieces
    3 carrots, cut in pieces
    2 potatoes, cut up
    noodles
    canned chicken broth (if needed)
Preparation
    Cut up chicken and put in a large pot.
    Cover with water.
    Add onion, bay leaves, salt, peppercorns and celery with leaves.
    Cook until chicken is tender.
    Strain liquid and refrigerate until fat comes to top; take off fat.
