Homestyle Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. Mazola corn oil
    1 c. chopped onion
    3 cloves minced garlic
    2 (28 oz. each) cans crushed tomatoes
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 tsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. dried basil
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In a 5-quart Dutch oven or pot, heat corn oil over medium heat.
    Add onion and garlic and saute 3 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Serve over spaghetti.
    Makes 6 cups.
