Pineapple Meringue Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    dash of salt
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
    1 small can crushed pineapple (8 oz.)
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until frothy.
    Add salt and cream of tartar. Beat until stiff.
    Add sugar gradually with tablespoon and beat until very stiff.
    Turn into greased 9-inch pie plate.
    Bake 1 hour at 275\u00b0.
    Cool.
    When cool, cut off top with sharp knife.
    Fill with 1/2 pint cream, whipped, into which has been folded 1 small can of drained crushed pineapple.
    Put top back on in jigsaw puzzle fashion.
    Sprinkle with powdered sugar and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
