German Style Carrots - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh carrots
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 medium onion, sliced thin
    2 Tbsp. white sugar
    1/2 tsp. dry sweet basil
Preparation
    Clean carrots and slice in 1/4-inch rounds.
    Put margarine in bottom of pan.
    Add carrots, onion, sugar and basil; salt and pepper, if desired.
    Add no water.
    Cover tightly and simmer 20 minutes.
    Do not remove lid.
    Steam in what cooks the carrots. Makes 6 servings.
