Coffee Cake Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Combine brown sugar, nuts, flour, cinnamon and melted butter. Set aside.
Sift dry ingredients into bowl and cut in shortening. Combine egg and milk and add to flour mixture. Stir just until moistened.
In greased muffin tins, spoon small amount of batter. Add a layer of nut mixture. Add more batter and top with nut mixture.
Repeat until 2/3 full. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes. Makes 1 dozen.
