Sweet And Crispy Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumber or green tomatoes, sliced
    3 c. lime
    water
    1 small box alum
    1 small box ground ginger
    3 pt. vinegar
    5 lb. sugar
    1 tsp. pickling spice (each jar)
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers in 3 cups lime and 2 gallons water for 24 hours.
    Rinse.
    Soak in 2 gallons water for 24 hours.
    Soak in alum and 2 gallons water for 24 hours.
    Soak in ground ginger and 2 gallons water for 16 hours.
