Mints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1/4 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    peppermint extract
    food coloring
Preparation
    In 2-quart glass measuring cup, combine sugar, corn syrup, milk and cream of tartar.
    Cook on High 5 to 6 minutes or until a few drops of mixture in cold water forms a soft ball (238\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Let stand 3 minutes to cool slightly.
    Beat with electric mixer until creamy.
    Flavor with 8 to 10 drops extract and color with food coloring.
    Drop mixture by teaspoonfuls onto foil.
    When cool, store in airtight container. Makes approximately 36 servings.
