Beef 'N Tater Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 c. soft bread crumbs
    1 beaten egg
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/3 c. ketchup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    3 c. hot mashed potatoes
    3/4 c. shredded American cheese
    1/4 c. shredded American cheese
Preparation
    Combine the first 7 ingredients; pat mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes; remove from oven.
    Drain excess fat.
    Combine the hot mashed potatoes and 3/4 cup shredded cheese; spread over meat.
    Top with 1/4 cup shredded cheese.
    Bake for 20 minutes.
